Guess What?

So, see where it says 3rd year Pharm D Student?  It is about time.  I just finished my last quarter as a second year.  One more quarter of didactics and then 6 rotations and pharmacy school is finished.  I will graduate on June 21, 2013...just over a year to go!  School is flying by and I am loving every minute of it.  I remember the day I clicked the button on my computer to turn in my applications for school.  I was terrified that I wouldn't even get an interview.  Now i'm almost finished.  I love what I am doing and learning and i'm so glad I have the opportunity to go to school and that my husband and family are so supportive of everything I want to do!

On another note,  Garet and Rylee are flying to Arizona on Sunday.  We are going to hit a Diamondbacks game on Monday and maybe do some relaxing at the pool and then the three of us (me, Garet and Rylee) are going to drive the Honda up to Utah on Tuesday.  Ethan (little brother serving in Minnesota) comes homes in August and we wanted to get the car back home for him to use.  Lance and I bought a Mazda 3 Hatchback, which we are loving, in April to replace the Honda.  I will get to spend a few days of my break in Utah.  Excited to see the family and spend a long car ride with Garet and Rylee.

Ice Cream and Cancer

Lance caught me in the ice cream while studying for my exam on cancer treatments. Then I learned about things that can increase your risk of getting cancer. Whoops...guess the ice cream wasn't such a good idea!

I like to ride my bicycle, I like to ride my bike

Lance and I went biking a few weekends ago with my mothers first cousin (I believe that makes her my first cousin once removed...or something to that effect) Rebecca and her husband Tye. Lance recently invested in a mountain bike and Tye, who is an avid biker, has been kind enough to show him around the trails. The two have become fast biking buddies. We decided to do a double date of sorts and try out an easier trail so is ladies would be able to make it. The trail was a very slow, steady climb to the point you aren't visually aware of the incline. My legs are so out of shape that I probably only made it a few miles...definitely not anywhere near the top. Lance was such a trooper and pulled over with me every 50 yards so I could rest. I was not so thrilled about the whole experience. That is until we turned back around to go to the cAr. I had a blast on the way back down the hill and committed to learning to enjoy biking. The one caveat I have is, at least for the time being, I will only do down-hill trails.

Disney, Cali, and Sea World-McKay family adventure 2012

We had a blast in California with most of the McKay family. It was so fun to spend time with all the nieces and nephews. We sure love you guys! The only thing missing was Mitch and Lyndee!

Birthday Dinners

I took lance to celebrate his 30th birthday at P.F. Changs. It was super yummy. Lance took me Bucca De Bepos to celebrate my birthday. It is a super family friendly Italian restaurant with huge servings so you can all share. What was best about this while thing is that we got to sit at the table in the kitchen and watch the chefs cook all the food. It was so much fun! And yes, I got a little teary eyed when I saw the flowers...he is a sweetheart!

Merry Christmas!

This year we stayed in Arizona for Christmas because Lance had to work. I'm on break from school right now so I thought it might to be good to upload some Christmas pictures!

Lance was awesome this year with his gifts for me. I got Rosetta Stone Latin Spanish...I have always wanted to learn another language. He picked out the red shoes all on his own too!

All my favorite makeup!

This is Lance's pile! He got lots of new dress clothes for work and books. Even though the X-box Kinect is in his pile, it was the McKay family gift from Santa.
We hope that everyone had a very Merry Christmas!

1 year down

I finished my first year of pharmacy school on Friday. It is so relieving to be done!!!

I get to start rotations on May 31...2 four-week-long rotations and then I get 5 weeks of summer. I'm super excited for rotations and being able to get out there and apply everything that I have learned so far!

Lance has been working for almost a month now and he loves his job. I love that he comes home from work happy. The doctor that he works with is a great teacher and an all-around good guy! We are very blessed!
